  1. Overview

The full name of Aiostar OPS is: Aiostar Open Pluggable Specification, an open pluggable specification. It is a standardized digital signage interface specification jointly developed by Intel and display manufacturers. The internal composition of OPS is a mini PC with X86 architecture, using Intel Core processor, equipped with memory, hard disk, multiple input and output interfaces and Windows operation interface, the size is 200mm x 119mm x 30mm.

The following is the definition of OPS on Intel's official website:

Digital Signage Open Pluggable Specification: Simplify digital signage development

Highlights

Enables easier installation, use and maintenance of digital signs.

Makes digital signage devices more intelligent and connected.

Overview

The open pluggable specification (OPS) helps standardize the design and development of digital signage devices and pluggable media players. Intel created OPS to address digital signage market fragmentation and simplify device installation, usage, maintenance and upgrades.

OPS enables digital signage manufacturers to deploy interchangeable systems faster and in higher volumes, while lowering costs for development and implementation.

Installing digital signage equipment based on Intel architecture helps you implement scalable digital signage applications that can network easily with other equipment. This simplifies interoperability and application upgrades designed to meet the digital signage requirements of individual customers, while helping to future-proof technology investments.

  1. Features

1. Computer modules that support the latest OPS specifications in digital signage and other industries to accelerate the standardization trend of the digital signage industry.

2. The OPS module can simplify the installation, use, maintenance and update of equipment and help digital sign manufacturers reduce development and implementation costs.

3. OPS can be easily networked with other devices, can expand the application of digital signage, and meet the needs of digital signage for interaction and application update.

4. Some OPS platforms support remote management and low power consumption modes to solve power consumption and heat dissipation requirements. At the same time, the Intel vPro and AMT remote management technologies supported by the platform enable efficient operation of the equipment under unmanned control. Such as AOS-SOQ8I45A using the fourth-generation i5+Q87 platform

5. OPS fanless heat dissipation design provides ultra-quiet solutions to ensure a quiet and refreshing working environment. Less heat also brings less power consumption

  1.  OPS Computer Module

After Intel proposed this specification in 2011, along with the marketing of NEC OPS interface displays in Japan, traditional digital signage embedded motherboards stepped down from the altar, and OPS modularization was officially opened. Representative ops mainboard include AIOSTAR AOS-SOH8I45A

  1. Interface Card

In addition to NEC and a few manufacturers with complete OPS interface design and manufacturing capabilities, some display manufacturers commissioned OPS complete machine suppliers to design OPS daughter cards to make up for their own shortcomings in OPS interface design. AIOSTAR OPS expansion daughter cards can make The whole machine and the display better integrated.
